One of the best safety features now common to most automobile brands and makes is the Anti-lock Braking System or ABS. This revolutionary system has lowered the risk of collisions and being run off the road by whopping percentages. ABS brake repairs are required very rarely as the entire system is highly advanced and hassle-free. However, it is not unheard of that a vehicle’s ABS requires replacement or brake repairs. When it does require some attention, the ABS warning light lights up, and it is wise to respond to it at the earliest by bringing it into the team at Auto Super Shoppe Albany.

The ABS is electronically run systems and the main cause for brake repairs is when the ABS ECU malfunctions. This happens if and when one of the vehicle’s wheels is turning slower or faster than the others and will force the ECU to signal the ABS to turn off.

Another reason why brake repairs to the ABS become necessary is any fault with the hydraulic valves in the brakes. This can trigger a transmission of incorrect signals to the ABS ECU resulting in a shutdown or malfunction of the ABS.

Yet another reason why brake repairs might be required to the ABS is a malfunctioning or breakdown of the wheel speed sensors. Despite the fact that all wheels are rotating at precisely the same speed, faults in the wheel speed sensors can convey a wrong message to the ECU and it can, in turn, turn off the ABS.

Brake repairs to the ABS must be attended to at the earliest opportunity to ensure continued safety.
